Virgil Charles Laboube, age 92, of Hermann, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann.

Mr. Laboube was born in Little Berger, on April 28, 1922, the son of the late Frank and Clara (Gatzemeyer) Laboube Sr.

He was the husband of  Ruth Laboube (nee Hug) who survives. They were married on October 19, 1946 at St. Joseph's Church, Little Berger.

Virgil is survived by three children, Virginia & husband Stanley Hall, Russell & wife Melody Laboube, & Gordon & wife Cindy Laboube all of Hermann, by two sisters Laverne Weber and Clarene & husband Warren Grass, & one brother Frank Laboube Jr. all of Hermann by three sisters-in-law Theresa Laboube, LuVerne Schweerkotting, & Margaret Gabathuler, by six grandchildren Matthew Hall, Rebecca Hall Cassmeyer, Ben Laboube, Katie Laboube, Jackie Laboube Landolt, Adam Hall, two step-grandchildren Casey Matthews & Amber Matthews, seven great grandchildren, Ruth Ann Cassmeyer, Aubree Laboube, John Cassmeyer, Serafina Hall, Claire Landolt, Addison Landolt, & Henry Hall, and three step-grandchildren Shyan Mckee and Kaylee & Owen Matthews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, by twin sons who died at birth, by a brother Harvey, a sister Irene Schweerkotting and her husband Lyonel, brothers-in-law Jerome Weber and Edward Gabathuler,  sister-in-law Henrietta Laboube and in-laws James and Pearl Cappel and Ralph and Marie Hug.

Virgil was a member of St. George Catholic Church, M.F.A. & the Hermann V.F.W.  He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. in WW II as a Sgt. After returning from the military he worked for International Shoe Company and then farmed until retirement. Following retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, and going to dances. Most of all Virgil was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home in Hermann.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann,  with Father Bill Debo officiating. Burial in the St. George Cemetery with full Military Honors.
