Vera Olga Gerling, 91,  of New Haven, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 14th, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Gerling was born in Berger, Missouri on July 16, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Edna (Mehrhoff) Dahl .

She  was the wife of  the late Marvin P.  Gerling,  they were married September 6, 1947 at Berger, Missouri, 

She is  survived by her children, son Steve Gerling and wife Carrie of New Haven, daughter Diane Hoerstkamp and husband David of New Haven, son Wayne Gerling and wife Ginny of Hermann, daughter Sherry Glenville and husband Nick of Union, Missouri, son Robert Gerling  and wife Cindy of New Haven, daughter Kay Ruegge  and husband Clyde of New Haven, son Keith Gerling and wife Jodi of New Haven, son Bryan Gerling and wife Diane of Berger,  a sister Dorothy Quick of New Haven,  a  daughter in-law Leanne Gerling of New Haven,  21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

She was  preceded in death by her parents , two brothers,  two sisters,  her husband, a son Garry, and great grandchild Luke Hoerstkamp

Vera was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, Missouri

She worked at the Shoe Factory in Berger, Mo. but most of her time was devoted to raising a family. Some of her favorite hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening , baking,  reading  Bible stories to grandchildren and great grandchildren, leading Bible studies, and was a great prayer warrior. She also enjoyed hosting weekly Bible study and prayer time in her home for many years.

Funeral Services will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18th, with Rev. Joe Nogalski officiating. 

Visitation will be Monday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Baptist Church, New Haven, Missouri. 

Burial will be in the Dahl family cemetery, Berger, MO.

Memorials may be given to the Church C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
