Russell Leon Devlin, 65, of Montgomery City, MO, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home, after his battle with lung cancer.

Russell was born in Warrenton, Missouri on August 12, 1951, a son of the late Edward & Lucille (Overkamp) Devlin.

He was the husband of Mary "Ruth" (Steele) Devlin.   They were united in marriage  on April 25, 1970, at Immaculate Conception Church, Montgomery City, MO. 

Russell proudly served in the Missouri National Guard.  He worked as a cement mason and concrete finisher in St. Louis for the Local 527.   He enjoyed working and took a lot of pride in his work and seeing that the job was done right.

Russell is survived by his wife Ruth, of the home; two sons Randy Devlin & wife Nicole, of Liberty, Missouri; and Rodney Devlin & wife Charity, of Chesterfield, Missouri; by five brothers, Kenneth Devlin, of New Florence, Missouri; Sidney Devlin & wife Brenda, of New Florence, Missouri; Ronnie Devlin & wife Linda, of House Springs, Missouri; Gene Devlin & wife Liz, of New Florence, Missouri; and Glen Devlin & friend Chrissy, of New Florence, Missouri; by five sisters-in-law, Connie Brower & husband Kelly, of St. Louis, Missouri; Donna Devlin, of Montgomery City, Missouri; Kathy Devlin, of New Florence, Missouri; Mazie Elder & husband Max, of Pierceton, Indiana; and Peggy Pherigo & husband Buster, of Pierceton, Indiana; by two brothers-in-law Eddie Steele & wife Bonnie, of Martinsburg, Missouri; and Howard Steele & wife Nancy, of Wellsville, Missouri; and by six grandchildren,  Faith, Noah, Jonah, Kennedy, Preston, & Shelby.  He is preceded in death by his parents Edward & Lucille by brothers Larry & Dennis Devlin and a sister-in-law Patricia Devlin.

In his free time Russell enjoyed target shooting and riding four wheelers but mostly spending quality time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Florence, Missouri, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. David Knight officiating.

Burial will be at New Florence Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Missouri Department of Conservation.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
