Roy Fredrick Steimel, 90, of Washington, Missouri, formerly of Hermann, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Audrain Medical Center, Mexico, Missouri. 

Mr. Steimel was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 3, 1924, the son of the late Fredrick C. and Daisy F. (McLard) Steimel.

He was the husband of Rayma Jean (Kane) Steimel.  They were married July 1, 1946 at St. Louis, Missouri.  Rayma survives in Washington. 

Roy is also survived by two sons, Larry Steimel & wife Ann of Lake Sherwood, Missouri and Lynn Steimel & wife Judy of Valparaiso, Indiana, a sister-in-law Billie Steimel of Jefferson City and by four grandchildren Michael, Jonathon, Christopher and Lori Steimel.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Harold Steimel.

Roy proudly served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and the Iwo Jima, Saipan & Japan Occupations.  He was a member of New Life Church and the V.F.W. Post 4182 both of Hermann, Missouri. He owned & operated Steimel Heating & AC in Washington for over 20 years.  He then moved to Hermann and owned & operated Steimel Real Estate until retirement.  After retiring he opened Hermann Country Custard.  He enjoyed working and tinkering on things and rehabbing houses.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 1st from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri, with full military honors.
