Rosa  Saunders, 96, of Hermann, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Hermann Area District Hospital.

Mrs. Saunders was born in Case, Missouri on January 1, 1919, the daughter of the late Frank and Dena (Leffolz) Schannuth.

She was the widow of William Joseph Saunders.  They were married June 6, 1942 at Case, Missouri. 

Rosa was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. She was a homemaker and worked at Rock House Cafe.  She also was a caregiver for many people in this area, which she enjoyed doing. She also enjoyed farming, being around animals, riding horses, going on the river and trout line fishing. 

Rosa is survived by a daughter Dorothy "Dot" Ewald & husband John of Hermann, a son Roy Saunders of New Haven, by a grandson Rick Ewald & wife Christy of Union, three granddaughters Kathy Ewald of St. Louis, Kristin Gumper & husband Tony of St. Charles and Cassie Saunders of Maryland Heights and by three great grandchildren, Breanna & Ryan Ewald of Union and Kate Bremerkamp of Maryland Heights.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Loutre Island Cemetery, McKittrick.
