Richard H. Priefer, 90, of Gasconade, MO, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.

Richard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 15, 1927, a son of the late Arthur Henry Priefer & Florence (McElvain) Sheerin.

He was the husband of Aliene (Schooley) Priefer.   They were united in marriage on June 18, 1966, at Gasconade Union Church. To this union two sons were born Doug and Steven Priefer, who joined two sons by a previous marriage Michael and David Priefer.

Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of Gasconade Union Church, of Gasconade, Missouri.  He worked for McQuay Norris in St. Louis for many years as an assembly line inspector. 

Richard is survived by his wife Aliene Priefer, of the home, by their two sons, Doug Priefer & wife Ronnie, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Steven Priefer & wife Amanda, of Nashville, Tennessee; by a son David Priefer, of Taylorville, Illinois,  by a sister Patricia Theissen, of Hillsboro, Missouri, by a half-sister Patricia Nielsen, of Orlando, Florida, by 13 grandchildren, by numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, by a son Mike Priefer, and by two brothers Clarence Mitchell and Donald Sheerin and by a sister Shirley Wideman.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Gasconade Union Church, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m., with Rev. Rudolph Theissen officiating.
