Michael "Mick" McCarter, 67, of Berger, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home. 

Mick was born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania on November 12, 1948, a son of the late Samuel & Florence (Weeks) McCarter.

He was the husband of Michele Fehlings, who survives at the home.

Mick is also survived by three brothers (including his brother, Jack McCarter,  who raised him from a young age), three sisters, a brother- and sister-in-law (Jerome and Carolee Fehlings), and many nieces, nephews, & friends.  

Mick moved to Alaska in the early 80's, and lived in Skagway (where he met his wife, Michele) and Haines, AK.  After retiring from the Alaska State Ferry System, he and Michele moved to Missouri, settling in the Hermann area which is Michele's hometown.  Together, they developed an accommodations business called The Grapevine Guest Lodgings.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be given to:
