Marvin J. Pehle, 86, of Berger, MO, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Marvin was born in Etlah, Missouri on May 22, 1931, a son of the late John & Lucille (Smith) Pehle.
He was the husband of Betty Jo (Quick) Pehle. They were united in marriage on June 18, 1950, at St. Peter's U.C.C., New Haven. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2016.
Marvin was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, and of the National Farmes Organization. He was a former member of the church council and of the New Haven School Board.
Marvin was a pork & grain farmer. He loved going to the local fairs and helping his grandchildren in showing their hogs. He also enjoyed traveling, working on the farm, and going to the New Haven Senior Center. He loved visiting with family and friends, he never knew a stranger.
Marvin is survived by a son, Stephen Pehle & wife Linda; a daughter, Phyllis Menke & husband Randall, both of Berger; by four grandsons, Nick Pehle & wife Stephanie, of Berger; Ryan Menke & wife Crystal, of Washington; Josh Pehle, of Paso Robles, California; and Brandon Menke, of New Haven, Connecticut, and a granddaughter, Brittany Menke, of Berger; by five great grandchildren, Addison, Ayden, Mason, Maddox, and Weston, four sisters-in-law, Carroll Backes, of New Haven; Judy Wisdom, of Washington; Connie Kluesner & husband Charlie, of Washington; and Dorothy Quick, of New Haven; by a brother-in-law, Bill Quick & wife Evelyn, of New Haven, by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Randall Pehle, a brother Harold Pehle, two sisters Dollie Rainey & Ruth Freie and two brothers-in-law Ron Wisdom & LeRoy Quick.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
