Marlin "Sonny" Meyer, 81, of New Haven, MO, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri. 

Sonny was born in Berger, Missouri on July 19, 1934, a son of the late Armin B. & Viola E. (Zessinger) Meyer.

He was the husband of Ruth Marie Meyer.  They were married on June 26, 1955, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven.  Ruth survives in New Haven.

Sonny is also survived by a son, Steve Meyer & wife Donna, of New Haven, Missouri; two daughters, Shelley Lottmann & husband Keith, of Owensville, Missouri; and Susanne Kemp & husband Emanuel, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Vernon Hoemann & wife Minerva, of New Haven, Missouri, by his grandchildren, Mike, Jeff, &  Matt Gerlemann, Lindsay Schuck, Brent Meyer, and Brayden & Tatum Kemp, and by his great grandchildren, Josie, Jaden, & Carter Gerlemann and Austin & Collin Schuck.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elvern Terbrock and Barbara June Speckhals and a brother-in-law, Roscoe Hoemann.

Sonny was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven.  He worked for both Kellwood and American Recreation Products for a total of 42 years. 

In his free time Sonny enjoyed playing fast pitch softball with the New Haven Cubs, playing horse shoes and bowling.  He was an avid outdoors man, he loved hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery,  New Haven, Missouri.
