Leona A. Schlatt, 82, of Gasconade, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at her home.

Leona was born in Vigas, Missouri on June 23, 1933, the daughter of the late August & Leona (Wirt) Brasch.

She was the wife of Melvin Schlatt.  They were married on October 23, 1985, at Hermann, Missouri.  Melvin survives at the home.

Leona is also survived by a son Charles Rea of McAllen, Texas; a daughter Joy Towery & husband Mike of Hermann; son Ronnie Miller & wife Lisa of Hermann; son Gary Miller of Hermann; daughter Beverly Miller of North Carolina; son Kevin Miller of Hermann, daughter Lisa Riley & husband Mike of Hermann; two step daughters, Patty Price & husband Randy, of Gilmore, Texas; and Jennifer Lambing & husband Jason, of Steelville, Missouri; two step sons Mike Schlatt & special friend Belle Blackburn, of Rhineland;  and Scott Schlatt, of Gasconade, Missouri; by 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren, and by three sisters, Sis Bullock, & Lois Wiley, both of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Barb Sperry, of Hermann, Missouri.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, two step children Buanita Englert & Kevin Schlatt, two daughters-in-law Carol Rea and Pam Miller and a brother Sonny Brasch.

Leona worked at Handi-Pak.  She was a hard worker and stayed very busy raising her family.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing puzzle books.
