Kenneth Roy Meyer, son of Roy J. Meyer and Celeste (nee Block) Meyer, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 22, 1947.  He was baptized in the hospital soon after he was born.  He was confirmed by Rev. Justus Kretzmann at Atonement Lutheran Church in Florissant, Missouri.

Ken attended the University of Missouri in Columbia and obtained a B.A. in Physics, and a M.S. in Nuclear Engineering.  At Mizzou Ken was a member of the Air Force ROTC.  He attended the Air Force summer program and obtained a private pilot's license.  Ultimately, he had to leave the program because of the discovery of potential vision problems.

After graduation from M.U. Ken was employed by Commonwealth Edison in Zion, Illinois and worked at Zion on the construction and start-up of the Zion Nuclear Power Plant.

Upon completion of his work at Zion, Ken moved to California and was employed by P.G.&E. on the construction of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.

After Diablo Canyon, Ken moved to Berkeley, California and obtained a M.B.A. from U.C. Berkeley.  After graduation from Berkeley, he bought a home in San Anselmo, Calfornia  and worked for many years as a consultant on cogeneration and tax rate base issues in the energy industry.  During his time in northern California he was a member of  Trinity Lutheran Church in San Rafael, California.

Ken moved back to Missouri to be closer to family and to enjoy retirement in Hermann, Missouri.  He bought two homes in Hermann, one of which he remodeled and operated as a guest house for several years.

In Missouri, Ken benefitted greatly from KFUO A.M. Lutheran talk radio program issues, etc.  He volunteered to build the web site www.issuesetc.org for the program and served as webmaster from 1998 until 2008.  The program and website continue and their archived programs and resources are of great value especially to those involved in university Christian campus ministry.

At the time of his death, Ken was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Black Jack, Missouri.  Salem was the home church of his parents to whom he was always thankful for a wonderful home life and a good foundation in the Christian faith.

Ken is survived by an older brother, Robert Meyer, of Florissant, Missouri, an aunt Marolyn Block, of Montgomery City, Missouri, and numerous relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Haven, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven.  Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, Black Jack, Missouri or Camp Trinity.
