Jerry W. Pate, 66, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at New Florence,  Missouri.

Jerry was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 25, 1949, a son of the late Thomas & Alta (Dossett) Pate.

He was the widower of Catherine J. (Spicer) Pate.  They were married on April 10, 1982, at New Haven, Missouri.  Catherine passed away on May 3, 2015.

Jerry was a member of Assumption Church, New Haven.  He was a truck driver.  He started working with Lloyd Lynn of Labadie  with changing  tires and driving dump trucks.  He then drove a truck for Consolidated Freight for 17 years, for Wal-Mart for 11 years and currently for Callaway Trucking.  He was awarded driver of the year by the American Trucker Association.

In his spare time Jerry enjoyed going fishing.  In his teenage years he used to drag race.  Later he liked classic  and muscle cars.  He mostly cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Jerry is  survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Pate, of New Haven, Missouri and Deborah Pate, of Jefferson City, Missouri; by two grandchildren Lucien and Roman Hiatte of Jefferson City, by a brother, Larry Pate & wife Marilyn, of New Haven, Missouri, by a nephew, Robert Pate and a niece Kerri Otten both of New Haven.
 
Visitation will be Thursday, February 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.New Haven, where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Father Kevin Schmittgens officiating.
