Jeanette Elizabeth (Theissen) Landolt

May 8, 1925 ~ July 28, 2015 (age 90) 90 Years Old


With a sad heart we announce the death of our mother Jeanette Elizabeth Theissen Landolt, age 90 years. She passed to her eternal rest on Thursday, July 29, 2015 at the Hermann Area District Hospital. With the teamwork of Gentiva Hospice and the Hospital Staff,  the care, love and medical skills extended to her will always be remembered.

Jeanette was born on May 8th, 1925 into the family of Caroline (Carrie) Hagedorn Theissen and Albert (Al) Theissen in Rhineland, MO.

On June 13, 1948 she was married to Robert (Bob) Landolt. To this union four children were born. Three sons and 1 daughter, Gregory Allen and wife Sharon nee Grannemann, Larry Lyle and wife Jeanne nee Winkelmann, Rebecca Jo and husband Danny Haid and Randall (Randy) Gerard Landolt.

She leaves 11 grandchildren Tyler,Justin, Amanda, Philip, Eric, Alexandria, Logan, Lucas and Levi Landolt, Daniel and wife Bethany nee Douglas and Wesley Haid and three great grandchildren Daniel Henry, Elsa and Benjamin Haid.
 
Jeanette was the last remaining member of the Al Theissen family. Welcoming her to her eternal home, along with her husband Bob and her parents are three brothers and two sisters, Vincent, Sr. Clara, Willie Doll, Albert (Buck) and Raymond (Rat).

Jeanette was a loving wife, mother and kind neighbor. She was a faithful and sincere member of St. George Catholic Church. Jeanette spent her entire life in this community. Often you would see her in her yard tending to her flowers at 1204 Washington Street, or dancing with the Wurstjaegers during Festivals. She started to dance with the group at age 17.  In 1949 she danced on the stage of Keil Auditorium.

Sewing, knitting, crocheting and quitling gave her an opportunity to gift many family members and friends.

Jeanette had many jobs. First being a clerk at Theissen & Co. in Rhineland while her brothers went of to war. Jeanette "checker" worked at Kroger, Loutre Market, Duffner-Corbett, Gasconade County Counseling Center, Gasconade County Health Dept. In the 60's she flipped burgers at Jesse Wright's Cafe'.

Jeanette Loved to travel, she graced the Holy Lands, Hawaii, England and took a few cruises.

She was a member of the Ladies Sodality, St. Elizabeth Sewing Circle, St. George Choir (which she admitted to humming a lot), KC Auxiliary, Red Hat Club, VFW Auxiliary, Rhineland Wurstjaegers and Rhineland Roots Dinner Club (that good Rhineland stock).

She treasured the time spent with her friend Geneva Kemper adorning the alters at St. George Church.

Visitation for Jeanette will be Sunday,  August 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral Services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann with interment services following at St. George Cemetery.
