Janet L. Lieneke, 93, of Hermann, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Janet was born in Hermann, Missouri on September 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Walter & Caroline (Weissenbach) Whertvine.

She was the widow of Alfred "Speedy" Lieneke.   They were united in marriage  on May 16, 1942, in Hermann, Missouri.  Alfred preceded her in death on October 2, 2008.

Janet was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.  She worked as an office manager for Hermann Medical Arts for over 30 years.  She enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball, gardening, watching golf, reading and she loved to go dancing.    She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Janet is  survived by two daughters, Cheri Hagan & husband Brian, of Edwardsville, Illinois; and Karen Lieneke, of Tucson, Arizona; by a brother, George Whertvine & wife June, of Columbia, Missouri; by four grandchildren, Elizabeth Conway & husband Mat, of Troy, Illinois; Emily Davis & husband Chris, of Tempe, Arizona; Sarah Lieneke, of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Christopher Hagan, of Portland, Oregon,  by three great grandchildren,  Keaton & Katy Davis, of Tempe, Arizona; and Coleman Conway, of Troy, Illinois and by many nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow on Thursday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating. 

Burial will be at Loutre Island Cemetery,  McKittrick, Missouri.  Memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. or Loutre Island Cemetery.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
