J. Ishmael Kronk, 99, of Portland, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, Missouri.
Mr. Kronk was born in Portland, Missouri on September 20, 1915, the son of the late Riley Alvin and Bertha Florene (Walker) Kronk.
He was a member of Portland Baptist Church and he was an ordained minister of Assembly of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and traveling. He loved walking in the woods and his farm, where he lived until his death. He was a self educated man and took a college equivalence test for an Associates Degree. He worked as a social worker for the state government.
He is survived by three daughters, Melva Sheldon & husband Sam of Hermann, Carole Stewart & husband Johnny of Fulton and Charlotte Schaperclaus & husband Joe of Chamois, by two sisters Juanita Shockley of Lawson, Missouri and Mildred Baird & husband Don of Florissant, Missouri, by seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Kenneth Kronk.
Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Portland, Missouri.
