Helen  Lucille  Luecke, 90, of New Haven, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at New Haven Care Center.

Mrs. Luecke was born in Robertsville, Missouri on July 1, 1924, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Roetzer) Scherer.

She was the widow of Ivo "Jack" Luecke.  They were married June 21, 1947 at Holy Family Church, Port Hudson.  He preceded her in death on January 28, 1978.

Helen is survived by a daughter Diana Schriewer & husband Ronald of Richmond, Virginia, a son Dennis Luecke & wife Diane of Wentzville, Missouri, a daughter Dorothy Schowe & husband Don of New Haven, a sister-in-law Marcella Grech of Washington, her God daughter Barbara Litvan of Washington, by seven grandchildren, Kurt & Craig Schriewer, Jack, Jennifer & Dennis Jr. Luecke, Sarah Bloch and Tim Schowe and by three great grandchildren, Alex & Sarah Schriewer and Adalaine Bloch. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by seven brothers Joe, Martin, George, Mike, Bill, Frank and John Scherer, four sisters Ann Wildhaber, Dorothy Scherer, SSND.,  Elizabeth Remmert and Mary Roehrs.

Helen was a member of Assumption Church of New Haven, where she was a member of the St. Ann's Sodality as well as New Haven's German American Club.  She was also a board member for the New Haven Senior Citizens Housing for many years.  She volunteered at the New Haven Care Center, New Haven Senior Center and at New Haven Blood Mobile.

She worked for Langenberg Hat Factory for 25 years.  She loved going fishing, picking berries, going to garage sales and auctions.  She enjoyed family barbeques and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri. 

Funeral Services will be held at Assumption Church, New Haven, Missouri at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13th, with Father John Deken officiating.  Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Assumption Church or New Haven Senior Center.  C/O Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home.
