Hazel J. Mueller, 96, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Hermann Area District Hospital.
Hazel was born in Hermann, Missouri on December 28, 1920, a daughter of the late Edwin, Sr. & Mina (Lingenfelder) Mueller.
Hazel attended Frene Creek School in Hermann and adult night school at Roosevelt High School. She graduated from O'Fallon High School in St. Louis. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.
Hazel worked as a private duty LPN at Barnes-Jewish Hospitals, and then worked as an LPN at Incarnate Word Hospital for 20 years in St. Louis. She then went to work at Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis for 20 years and then retired from nursing in 1984 and moved to Hermann.
Hazel served as a volunteer Oats contact for Oats Bus service in the Hermann & Gasconade County area for many years. Hazel loved flowers and gardening and doing yard work. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, watching and listening to birds, vacationing, visiting with her family, and watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
Hazel is survived by a sister, Janet Mueller, of Hermann, Missouri, by nieces, nephews, and many special great nieces and great nephews, other relatives & friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, by three sisters, Ella King, Corene Meier, & Stella Cannon, and by two brothers, Edwin L. Mueller & Orval X. Mueller.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 3rd from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.
Burial will be at Hermann Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. or Hermann Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
