Harold A. Schuetz, 86, of Ballwin, MO, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home. 

Harold was born in Hermann, Missouri on May 18, 1930, a son of the late Albert Walter & Hulda (Loehnig) Schuetz.

He was a graduate of Hermann High School in 1948 and was confirmed at St. Paul United Church of Christ  in Hermann.

He was united in marriage  to Margalee Salley on July 28, 1957 at Rolla, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on January 23, 2008.  He later was married to Joyce Guard.  They were married on May 24, 2009 at Hermann, Missouri.  

Harold proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.  He was a member of St. Mark Presbyterian Church, Ballwin, Missouri. 

After being discharged from the Air Force Harold went to school at Missouri School of Mines in Rolla on a GI Bill.  He received  a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.  After school he went to work for Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  He then later took a job with Army Aviation System Command in St. Louis and worked there until his retirement in the early 1980's. 

Harold is survived by his wife Joyce Schuetz, of Ballwin, by his six daughters, Marklyn Cobb & husband Robert, of St. Peters, Missouri; Teresa Steuer & husband Ira, of St. Louis, Missouri; Renae Knudtson & husband Ben, of Ellisville, Missouri; Jerri Brown & husband Allen, of O'Fallon, Missouri; Markita Breeden & husband David, of Ballwin, Missouri;  and Conya Hoover & husband Robert, of St. Charles, Missouri;  by his step-children, Peter Guard, of Tampa, Florida; Anne Kusmierczyk & husband Robert, of Orange Park; Florida; James Guard & wife Melanie, of Creve Coeur, Missouri; and Thomas Guard & wife Carolyn, of Tampa, Florida, by a step-daugher-in-law, Beth Guard, of San Antonio, Texas; by a sister, Mildred Oncken, of Hermann, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Harvey Cramer & wife Dolores, of Washington, Missouri, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Margalee Schuetz, by a brother, Rudolph Schuetz, a sister, Ruth Cramer, and by a step-son, David Guard.
 
In his free time Harold enjoyed roller skating.  He taught roller skating while he was in college.  He loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and was very active in sports.  He also enjoyed traveling, playing pinochle and scrabble.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2nd from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will be at Hermann Cemetery, Hermann, Missouri, with full military honors.
