Grace L. Brennell, 95, of Hermann, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge. 

Grace was born in Addieville, Illinois on November 1, 1921, a daughter of the late Christ & Emma (Borcherding) Thoms.  

She was the widow of Gilbert Brennell, whom she married on March 17, 1945.  Gilbert passed away on December 11, 1988.  Grace was preceded in death by her by her two brothers Christ Thoms  & Fredrick Thoms and her sister Erna (Thoms) Stemmerman. 

Grace is survived by four sons, Michael Brennell & wife Penelope, of St. Louis, Missouri; Steven Brennell & wife Mary, of Pershing, Missouri; Charles Brennell & wife Janette, of New Haven, Missouri; and William, Brennell & wife Kimberly, of St. Louis, Missouri. Grace was a loving grandmother to Tracie (McLaren), Matthew, Colleen (Rein) and Andrew Brennell; Stefanie (Payne) and Benjamin Brennell; Jason, Adam and Katy (Linck) Brennell; and to Ryan and Kacie Brennell.  Grace’s great-grandchildren include Ambrose, Bernadette, Michael and Dominic Rein; Jack, Hannah and Nathaniel Brennell; Will, Sean and Zachary Brennell;  Emma, Audrey and Alex Linck and Colin & Austin McLaren.  

The family has scheduled a private visitation for family members and relatives on Tuesday, January 17th, 10am at  Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann,  a private funeral mass at St. George Catholic Church at 11am with burial following at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Morrison.  

Memorials may be given to St. James Catholic Church, St. Louis, c/o Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
