Glennon "Glen" Devlin, 61, of New Florence, MO, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.
Glen was born at home near High Hill, Missouri on May 1, 1956, a son of the late Edward & Lucille (Overkamp) Devlin.
Glen proudly served on the New Florence Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years and was chief for 15 years. He was a member of the New Florence City Council for several years and was elected Mayor in 2017. He also worked for the city of New Florence as a maintenance man.
In his free time he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with people at the coffee shop.
Glen is survived by a daughter, Julie Bernard & husband Travis, of Montgomery City, Missouri; by three granddaughters, Haley, Hannah, & Kylee McReaken, by his ex-wife Kathy Devlin, of New Florence, by a special friend Chrissy Dixon, of New Florence, by four brothers, Kenneth Devlin, of New Florence, Missouri; Sidney Devlin & wife Brenda, of New Florence, Missouri; Ronnie Devlin & wife Linda, of House Springs, Missouri; and Gene Devlin & wife Liz, of New Florence, Missouri; by three sisters-in-law, Connie Brower & husband Kelly, of St. Louis; Donna Devlin, of Montgomery City, and Ruth Devlin, of New Florence, and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, by brothers Larry, Dennis, & Russell Devlin, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Devlin.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 15th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Florence, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be at New Florence Cemetery. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
