Many of you have accused me of being a control freak, and I am making my last statement by writing my own obituary.

I, Glenn J. Warnebold, Hermann, Missouri, was given the holy last sacraments on Tuesday, July 26th by Monsignor Greg Higley, Pastor of St. George Catholic Church and the Church of the Risen Savior then passed into eternity on July 28, 2016 at 5:15 pm at my home.

I was born May 15, 1942 at Labadie, Missouri.  I am the son of John C. and Rosaline E. (Unnerstall) Warnebold and godson of Edison and Marguerite (Unnerstall) Warnebold, Fey.  All preceded me in death.  I  was also preceded in death by my brother and sister James and Janet Warnebold and brother-in-law Dennis Straatmann.

I married Carolyn Straatmann on June 20, 1964 who survives me.  I am also survived by my sister, Mary L. (Warnebold) Wilmesherr (Mick), nephews Dale and Chad Wilmesherr all of Washington, Missouri; Brothers and Sisters in-law; Shirley Kitchen, William Straatmann (Dolores), Marvin Straatmann, Glenda Adrian (Tom), Timothy Straatmann (Cindy), and Rita Atkins; Nieces and nephews in-law, Connie, Corrie, Jason, Andrew, Nicholas, Sara, Jennifer, Christina, Timothy Jr., Patrick, Samuel, Madeline, Jessica, Matthew & Daniel.

I grew up in Labadie, Missouri.  I graduated from St. John's Gildehaus Catholic grade school where I was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, at Villa Ridge in 1956.  I attended St. Francis Borgia High School and was on the first football team, graduating in 1960.  I attended St. Louis University, St. Louis, initially enrolled in pre med, but left handed physicians are very rare and then chose another path.  My second semester, I moved to the St. Louis University School of Commerce and Finance, earning a BSC degree in Finance in 1964.  In 1988 I studied for and Passed the Missouri CPA exam and was a practicing CPA in Missouri, Illinois and Florida at the time of my death.

I was a 4th degree member of the Monsignor Hildner Knights of Columbus.

My career path began at Straatmann Feed Store, Labadie,MO, then to Oliver W. Schneider CPA firm, St. Louis.  I worked 12 years for United Parcel Service in Missouri, Tennessee and North Carolina as Controller.

My career took me to several western states setting up accounting offices in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and others for the UPS expansion in the 1970's.  Missouri Pacific Truck Lines in St. Louis was the next accounting opportunity in 1978 and I served as an account executive.  Shortly thereafter I moved to the Missouri Pacific Railroad as an account executive till 1988 when I earned a CPA certificate and opened my own practice as Warnebold Accounting & Tax Service in Ellisville and practiced until my death.

I served on many Boards of Directors, some of the more recent:   The St. Louis University Liver Foundation, St. Louis, The Community Foundation of Hermann, Missouri Vintners Association, and also treasurer for the Gasconade County Pachyderm Club.

I hope to see all of you another day.  Love one another.

Glenn
