Geneva Hilda Kuebler, 92, of Hermann, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 surrounded by her children and family at Summit Villa, Holts Summit, Missouri.

Geneva was born in Morrison, Missouri on May 22, 1925, to parents George Sr. and Selma (Birk) Hackmann. She grew up on a working farm in a busy household with eight siblings. When she wasn’t helping her mother get meals on the table for her family and hired hands, she loved to play in the woods and creeks with her sisters and brother.

Geneva was united in marriage to Herbert Albert "Sonny" Kuebler on January 22, 1947 in the Assumption Catholic Church, Morrison, Missouri. Between 1948 and 1961, their family grew to seven as they welcomed five children. Herbert preceded her in death on August 9, 2015.

The main focus of Geneva’s life was family. Following Sunday mass, Geneva and Herb loaded the kids in the car and drove to Morrison for weekly visits with their parents and other family.  Closer to home, weeks were filled with school activities and ball games for her children, and she attended every one of them.

She nourished her family with delicious home cooking that included family favorites pot roast, German potato salad, wild game and fish that Herb and the boys brought home, and rice pudding. When sports practices or play rehearsals caused someone to miss meal times, she always made sure dinner was waiting on a hot plate in the kitchen.

When her children were older, Geneva went back to work at International Shoe Company for over 20 years.
As her own children started families of their own, Geneva became a grandma for the ages, showering each grandchild with a bottomless, limitless love.

Herb and Geneva spent their golden years in Hermann, where they grew a bountiful garden and “put up” a cellar full of tomatoes, green beans, and pickles to enjoy in the winter. Geneva enjoyed finding used furniture at rummage sales and infusing it with new life by stripping, sanding, and staining it. She was a competitive card player, and she loved dancing, playing cards and games, and ice cream. She was fun-loving, big-hearted, kind, unselfish, sweet, and loving.  Geneva was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Jerry Kuebler and wife Karen, of St. Charles, MO; Danny Kuebler and wife Diane, of Columbia, MO; Connie Hinton and husband Mark, of Jefferson City, MO; Terry Kuebler and wife Linda, of Jefferson City, MO; and Nancy Coba and husband Mitch, of Woodinville, WA; by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Anna Mae Hackmann, of Hermann, MO; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, Herbert Kuebler, by two brothers, Virgil and George Jr. Hackmann, and by six sisters, Aletha Lampkin, Irene Kuebler, Lorene Kuebler, Helen Schaeffer, Gladys Hartman, and Opal Stiers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
