Eleanora  J.  Oelschlaeger, 98, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Eleanora was born in McKittrick, Missouri, on July 29, 1917, a daughter of the late Fred A. & Hilda  E. (Luetkemeyer) Buescher.

On September 29, 1940 she was united in marriage to George P. Oelschlaeger  at Hartsburg, Missouri. Four children were born to this union; George, Donald, June and Jane.

In her early working years, she worked as a maid in St. Louis. When she married George, she became a homemaker, but she also cleaned homes and businesses in the Hermann area.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, St. Paul Women’s Fellowship and a Sunday School teacher.  She was also a member of the Rhineland Wurstjaegers Dance Group, a leader for 4-H for many years and Gasconade County Extension Homemakers Club. Eleanora enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking, canning and dancing. Although she wasn’t an original member of the Rhineland Wurstjaegers, she joined the group shortly thereafter. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the Wurstjaegers . 

She is survived by her children, George Oelschlaeger and wife Mary, of Rock Island, Illinois; Donald Oelschlaeger  and wife Nancy, of Crestwood, Kentucky; June Doran and husband Jeffrey, of Davenport, Iowa and Jane Shull and husband Brent, of Shelbyville, Illinois; by one brother LeRoy Buescher and wife Jean, of Columbia, MO; by  two sisters-in-law Betty Buescher, of Jefferson City, MO and Carol Buescher, of Valdosta, Georgia. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Fred Oelschlaeger and wife Karol; Curtis Fischer Oelschlaeger  and husband Alex; Kerri Hammons and husband Craig; Keith Howard and wife Kim; Wendi Larson and husband Glenn; Todd Doran and wife Molly; Chad Doran and wife Becky; and Traci Doran-Gephart and husband Ryan, by 21 great grandchildren  and 1 great-great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George P. Oelschlaeger, by three brothers, Clarence, Harding and Frederick Buescher and one sister Gladys Brehe and a granddaughter Heidi Oelschlaeger.

Visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9th at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, Missouri, with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.   Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.
