Edmund Edward Bickmeyer, 87, of Hermann, MO, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at New Florence Nursing & Care Center, New Florence, Missouri.
Edmund was born in Stolpe, Missouri on December 24, 1930, a son of the late Edward Christian & Elnora (Eikermann) Bickmeyer.
He was the husband of Eleanor L. (Schweppe) Bickmeyer. They were united in marriage on November 8, 1952, at St. John's U.C.C., Berger, MO. Eleanor survives at the home.
Edmund is also survived by their three children, Diane Witthaus & husband Scott, of Rogersville, Missouri; Mark Bickmeyer & fiance' Joann Dobson, of Hermann; and Kurt Bickmeyer & wife Janelle, of Hermann; by three sisters, LaVerta Schulte, of Overland Park, Kansas; Norella Keller, of Washington, Missouri; and Elladean Van Booven & husband Denis, of O'Fallon, Missouri; by a brother, Norbert Bickmeyer & wife Betty, of O'Fallon, Missouri; a sister-in-law Ruth Bickmeyer; of Hermann, by eight grandchildren, Jill Bacon & husband Danny; Seth Witthaus, Joshua Bickmeyer & wife Jessica, Austin Bickmeyer, Shelby Bickmeyer, and Dalton, Korinna and Kale Bickmeyer, by two step-grandchildren, Desiree & Evelyn Dobson, by three great grandchildren, Braxton & Maddux Bacon, and Rylinn Bickmeyer, and one step-great grandchild Kayden Dobson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters Leona Vohs, Janetta Erfling, Arlene Rupp, and Verneda Schaumberg and a brother Bernell Bickmeyer.
Edmund was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann. He was a former member of the Hermann Brush & Palette Club and the Hermann Eagles. He also was a Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leader.
He worked at Rite Point in Hermann and also for Wellsville Fire Brick. After leaving Wellsville Fire Brick he started his own business and owned & operated Ed Bickmeyer Masonry. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working in his rose garden, building deer stands, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 25th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating.
Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Stolpe, Missouri. Memorials may be given to St. Paul U.C.C. or St. John's Cemetery. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
