Dennis W. Zumsteg, Sr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in the home with his wife Vera and daughter Dana at his side.  He was 72 years old.

Dennis was born in Bluffton, Missouri on February 23, 1945, a son of the late James & Alda (Lensing) Zumsteg.

He was united in marriage to Vera L. Carter on October 16, 1998.

Dennis worked in construction and opened his own company in 1998.  He also had a farm where he raised cattle.  He enjoyed having bottle calves and working his own hat.  He also enjoyed deer hunting each year, watching PBR bull riding, and Walker Texas Ranger on T.V. and going to auctions whenever he could.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He was survived by 11 children, 36 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, by two sisters, Shirley Forbis, of Mexico, Missouri; and Cary Dee Prior, of Montgomery City; and several nieces & nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, by three brothers, one son, one infant grandson and one infant granddaughter.  

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21st from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers include, Josh Oligschlaeger, Trent Burwell, Chandler Sutton, Josh Zumsteg, Colt Engemann, and Robert Supinski, and honorary, Owen Hale.  

Memorials may be given to Mercy Hospice in Lincoln County or to the family.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
