Delmar T. Bunton, 94, of Wellsville, MO, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. 

Delmar was born in Vichy, Missouri on July 23, 1922, a son of the late Thomas & Celia (Cochran) Bunton.

Delmar enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942, proudly serving his country during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945.

He was married to Ruby I. Neal on January 26, 1948 in Harlan, Kentucky.  They were married for 56 years.  Ruby preceded him in death on January 8, 2005.

Delmar was later remarried to Shirley Coachman on March 13, 2006 in Vandalia, Missouri.  Shirley survives at their home in Wellsville.

Delmar is also survived by two sons, Joseph Hodge & wife Linda, of Monett, Missouri; and John B. Bunton & wife Carol, of Bellflower, Missouri; by two daughters, Nicky Peatross, of Wellsville, Missouri; and Barbara Thomas & husband Robbie, of Jonesburg, Missouri; by three step daughters, Lydia Perez, of St. Louis, Missouri; Krysta Grageno & husband Ramon, of St. Louis, Missouri; and Rebecca Van Hoorne, of St. Louis, Missouri; by a step son, Daniel Payne, of Jefferson City, Missouri; by two sisters, Genevieve Crane, and Edna Wolfort & husband Butch, both of Troy, Missouri; a brother, Ermal Bunton & wife Marie, of Rolla, Missouri, by two grandchildren,  James N. Bunton, & John R. Bunton, and 15 other grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Ruby, by a son Ernie Hodge & his wife Wanda, a son-in-law Warren Peatross, a daughter Olive Juanita Sue Ross & her husband Paul, a great grandchild Noah Wade Peatross, by four brothers, Emmet, Thurman, Darrell, & Herman Bunton and by a sister Juanita Garen.

Delmar worked at Binkley Corp in Warrenton as a crane operator.   He was a member of the Aerospace Machinist Union, Local #1745, District 9.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 27th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Florence, Missouri, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. David Knight officiating. 

Burial will be held at New Florence Cemetery, with full military honors. Memorials may be given to VA Home in Mexico, MO.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
