Mrs. Darlene  Kattelmann Cappel age  88, of Hermann passed away Friday, December 12th, 2014 at Hermann Area District Hospital, Hermann, MO.

Mrs. Cappel was born in McKittrick, Missouri on September 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Patton) Schmidt.

She was married to Elmer Kettelmann on November 17, 1945 at the Hermann United Methodist Church, Hermann, Mo. Elmer passed away August 6, 2003. She then married James Cappel on April 4, 2009 in Hermann. Mr Cappel passed away March 24, 2013.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ,  St. Paul Women's Fellowship, and the Hermann Area District Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She worked as a cook at the Gasconade County R-1 Schools  for several years, she also worked at International Shoe Company , and Heberle Packing Company all of Hermann.

She is survived by her children Lisa Heying & Husband Stanley, Hermann; Calvin Stiers and special friend Debbie Kopmann, Hermann; by her sister Dorothy Busen and husband Gene, N. Ft. Myers, Florida and by four grandchildren Shaun, Wesley & Alison Heying and Kristin Stiers and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents by her two husbands, by a sister Irma Stiers and a brother Marvin Schmidt.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 15th, at 1:00 p.m. from the Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home Hermann, Missouri   with Rev. James Elliott officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday from  4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, Missouri.

Interment  will be at Loutre Island Cemetery  McKittrick, Missouri.
