Charles E. Brown, 72, of Hermann, MO, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Frene Valley of Hermann Stonebridge.

Charles was born in Granite City, Illinois on November 23, 1944, a son of the late Vernon & Dorothy (Bezold) Brown.

He was the husband of Rita (Ahmann) Brown.   They were united in marriage  on September 28, 1968, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann.  Rita survives at the home.

Charles is also survived by a daughter, Sara Williams & husband Ben of Rhineland, Missouri, two grandchildren,  Bryce & Faith Williams,  a sister LaDonna Ottinger, of Hermann, by a sister-in-law, Sharyn Rugh & husband Gene, of Wright City, Missouri, and by nieces & nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and by a son Steve Brown.

Charles was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Hermann, the Hermann Masonic Lodge #123 A. F. & A.M., Mid Missouri Shriners Club, and the Moolah Shriners.

Charles worked at General Cable Corp. in Warrenton, Missouri.  Then he became the administrator for Hermann Area Ambulance District for 20 years.  He last worked as a security officer for several businesses in and around the Hermann area. 

In his free time Charles enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting.  He also enjoyed going to cattle shows.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching them play sports and going camping.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Rodger Kiepe officiating. 

Burial will be at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.  Memorials may be given to Hermann Youth Football Program or Shriners Hospital for Children.  C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
