Alice M. Horstmann, 78, of New Haven, MO, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.
Alice was born June 5, 1937 in rural New Haven, the daughter of the late George & Martha (Schultz) Pointer.
She was the wife of Marvin G. Horstmann. They were married on October 25, 1958, at Emory United Methodist Church, New Haven, Missouri. Marvin survives at the home.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Kay Hesemann & huband Robert of Owensville, Missouri; two sons Joe Horstmann, of Berger, Missouri, and Jeff Horstmann & friend Theresa Tynes, of Columbia, Missouri; a brother, Marvin "Clem" Pointer, of New Haven, Missouri, by three grandchildren Heidie, Jordan & Cole and by a great granddaughter Autumn, by nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Milford "Red" Pointer and a sister Dorothy Smith.
Alice was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri and the American Legion Auxiliary of New Haven. She was a beautician and owned her own beauty shop for several years. She has also previously worked for Langenberg Hat Factory, Mallinckrodt, IGA and Dot & Linn's Tavern all of New Haven. In her spare time she enjoyed going to local New Haven sport events, traveling, playing cards and board games and going to the Senior Center. She mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri.
Funeral Services at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, Missouri, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, with Rev. David Poe officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter's U.C.C. or New Haven Senior Center. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
