Albert H. Whithaus

Albert  Henry  Whithaus, age 88, of Morrison passed away Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at University of Missouri Medical Center, Columbia, Missouri.

Mr. Whithaus was born in Morrison, on September 18, 1926, the son of the late Gus and Louise (Wink) Whithaus.

He was a member of St. James U.C.C. & the Fellowhip Crusaders.

Albert  spent most of his life farming, he also worked as a carpenter  for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers for 17 years.

He was the widower of Viola  (Heitkemper) Whithaus who passed away on January 30, 2009, Albert and Viola were married on August 23rd, 1952 at St. John's United Church of Christ, in Chamois.

Albert is survived by two children, a daughter Debbie L. Prater & husband Jim of Chamois and a son Doug of Morrison. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Gary & Brian Whithaus of Morrison, Shawn Whithaus of Isabella, Minnesota, Dusty Prater of Poplar Bluff, & Lacey Prater of Ashland by 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Milton(Shorty) & John Whithaus.

He enjoyed fishing as a hobby . However, for pastime he would drive around and look at the crops, almost daily he would stop by the MFA and catch up on the local news.

Funeral Services will be held  at St. James United Church of Christ in Morrison at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18th,  with Rev. Barb Zastrow officiating.

Visitation will be held Sunday  from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Morrison.

Interment at Good Hope Cemetery in Morrison with full Military Honors.
